With summer just around the corner, we are all eager for all the new adventures we will likely experience this season. These are the 10 new places that will soon make their appearance in the cities of Cyprus. We are very excited and can’t wait for each and every one of them to take place in our summer experiences!
Estrella | Limassol & Nicosia
Estrella one of the most famous Breakfast & Brunch places in Greece will soon open in Limassol and is set to eventually appear in the streets of Nicosia! As soon as we heard this news and saw its page appearing on our social media feeds under the name ‘Estrella Limassol’ we can’t wait for its much awaited arrival! The Estrella franchise begun in Thessaloniki but soon expanded in Athens. It is now a renowned establishment, with its name appearing on National Geographic and on the pages of New York times. This is not strange since we’ve all seen the photos of some of its mouthwatering choices like ‘mpougatsan’ which is croissant with mpougatsa crème sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. We are thrilled with these news, but until then let’s just stare at some of its choices for breakfast & brunch just a little longer.
Columbia Beach | Limassol
We’ve all seen the signs appearing on the Tourist area of Limassol at one of the most famous fast-food restaurant of our childhood, Goody’s. We are all excited not only because we’ve got a taste from the quality of the restaurants run by Columbia (La Boca, Pizza Express, Columbia Steak House, etc.) and we know what to expect but also because we can’t wait to see the transformation and to enjoy Columbia; this time at the beach! It is said to be open at all times of the day operating as a Restaurant, Beach Bar and as a Pool Bar inviting different ages to spend their whole day on the sand sipping cocktails and tasting the superb choices offered by their menu. The new spot in town is believed to change the whole setting of the area, since we are all expecting an architectural masterpiece that will gain its own place in our summer experiences.
Paul Café | Nicosia
Paul Café, the internationally known French chain of Bakeries, Patisseries, Cafés and Restaurants will launch its first establishment in Cyprus, specifically in Nicosia. PHC Franchised Restaurants Public Ltd is behind this thrilling arrival; it will open its doors for the public sometime in mid-July to beginning of August and it will be accommodated at the old restaurant Kalymnos in the city center of the capital city. By now you must be fantasizing of all the dreamy sweets, pastries, specialty breads and savory dishes that will be offered at Paul’s. In fact, to confirm your thoughts, it will offer a number of options satisfying everyone’s taste some of which will include meat, fish, pasta, salads, sandwiches and a delightful patisserie range made up of 12 different types of sweets. Get ready for the new elite spot in town; this summer will be sweet!
Caffe’ Vergnano | Nicosia
Another anticipating arrival is said to take form at the formerly known Aj’s that will soon be transformed to the popular Vergnano Caffe’. Coming all the way from Italy, it will give us a taste of quality Italian coffee and of course the traditional Mediterranean flavors of the country. Vergnano Caffe’ has a rich history going back to 1882 where the cafe was opened by Domenico Vergnano in a small Italian city. Italian coffee and Mediterranean style dining, what more could someone ask for?
Panoramic Bar | Ayia Napa
Summer lovers, Panoramic Bar is coming in the form of an impressive roof top bar to be housed by Asterias Beach Hotel in Ayia Napa. As predicted by its name and certainly by the natural beauty associated with Ayia Napa, it will have views that will be truly magical. Sources say that the breathtaking Cape Greco will be visible from the bar. We are definitely putting Panoramic Bar on our things to do list for our vacations!
The First Medieval Restaurant | Nicosia
A very unique and interesting concept is the First Medieval Restaurant to open in May in the city of Nicosia. The restaurant will be fully inspired by the Medieval period in Europe known as ‘Middle Ages’ holding from the 5th to the 15th century. Meat will play an important role in the menu that will also have different kind of tastes influenced by the historical era. As expected the interiors and the atmosphere will also have the mood of the period and will inevitably be dark!
Colors Café | Limassol
Colors Café, situated in the premises of Four Seasons hotel is one of the most cherished places for coffee and sweet delights in Limassol. As most of us must know it is currently being renovated and we are all desperately missing it! Although it was expected to open this spring, along with the new grounds of the hotel that will house new lush suites; the project is to be delayed due to construction not being finalised on time. Talk of the town says that it will be fully modern with high ceilings, 3 verandahs as well as a newly revised menu for all times of the day. The new menu will include different choices for lunch and dinner including salads, sushi, several snacks and let’s not forget the all the pastries that we are so used to eating. To top this all off most of the elements in the menu will be made by the award winning pastry Chef Oriol Balaguer which has won twice the award for the best croissant of the world. Yes, you read that correctly, best croissant of the world! Let’s hope that the café will soon open and we can once again splurge in the amazing pastries while enjoying the wonderful atmosphere of the hotel.
Sushi La | Paphos
One of the most popular Asian restaurant in Cyprus, Sushi La is opening in Paphos! Offering Japanese-fusion dishes, the restaurant begun its successful operation in Larnaca and in Nicosia and is now opening its first restaurant in the city of Paphos inviting you to taste its renewed and refreshed menu. Sushi lovers or not we are all waiting for this new fascinating gastronomic choice!
1923 | Lefkara Village
Changing the setting from city life to village, 1923 is a new boutique hotel that will open in the picturesque village of Lefkara! It will be the ultimate choice for anyone looking for vacation in the countryside, or simply for an evening of fine dining and drinks in a different setting. Some of the facilities that the hotel will offer include a high-end restaurant offering a la carte menu influenced by delightful Mediterranean aromas as well as a modern style traditional café. The good news are that the hotel will open some of its premises this summer! While the whole venue will operate fully by winter.
Pralina Experience | Nicosia
Pralina used to be one of the most famous places to get coffee in one of the most elite streets of Nicosia. Despite its recent closing, the place is being reopened by Zorbas Group of companies that has establishments in Limassol and New York. The future seems very promising as the new Pralina Experience will offer a wide variety of delicious pastries and sweets as well as best quality coffee. As if the above where not enough, the menu that is currently prepared by a greek chef with a Michelin star will include a section for wine lovers as well as different choices for fine dining. The place is likely to soon become the emerging hot spot of the town; ideal for business and leisure. Pralina Experience will be opening in about 3 months and we are anticipating for its revitalized appearance!
