An enchanting performance of melodic poetry, by Eleftheria Arvanitaki was held at Aphrodite’s rock as a part of the Paphos 2017 PPE.
The “Second Life” performance took place at the Petra tou Romiou where, according to mythology, the goddess Aphrodite emerged from the waves. This impressed the performer, who told the audience that it is “a poetry night”, a night that has an intimacy with the space “.
Eleftheria Arvanitaki said that the concert hall is symbolic for both Cyprus and Greece in general. The songs she performed are poems by well-known poets composed by the composers Dimitris Papadimitriou and Nikos Xydakis.
The interpreter was accompanied by the band “Acordes”, with nine guitars and a double bass, in a program edited by Evagoras Karageorghis and Zois Paisanos – Markos, with works written for guitar from the Mediterranean, Europe and Latin America as well as adaptations and traditional melodies Edited by Evagoras Karagiorgis. As Dr. Christos Patsalidis, president of the BOD of Paphos 2017, noted this music night was magical and it will last for years in our memories.
