This year the 1st Pancyprian honey and beekeeping Festival will be held in Kalopanayiotis between the 27th and the 29th of October.
Kalopanagiotis, the popular village in the Nicosia district, and the wider Marathasa area have a direct connection with the production of honey and the development of beekeeping, since it is also referred to as Myrianthousa.
The initiative for this event belongs to the Troodos Development Company and it seems to be a very well organised effort. It will deal with everything that concerns honey, bees and various byproducts and cosmetics and it’s main purpose is to educate the consumers of this important beekeeping sector in Cyprus.
There will be both beekeepers and consumers to find out about the beneficial properties of Cypriot honey, try honey from every corner of Cyprus, and also get the best honey from the producers.
Definitely the sweetest festival of the year!
