Head of the Cyprus Hotel Association (Pasyxe) district office announced on Monday that hotels are 93-95% booked in August, with many Southern European tourists as well as Cypriot visitors. Meanwhile, this month the hotels in Paphos are 97% full.
Thanos Michaelides said that although so far, British, Russian, Israeli as well as some German tourists have showed interest in Paphos, in August the nationalities it attracts will differ slightly. He noted that many Cypriot visitors will be attracted and explained that this can be largely attributed to the events being organised in Paphos, in light of it being the European Culture Capital for 2017. He also added that locals wishing to spend holidays in Paphos should hurry and make reservations before rooms run out.
Michaelidis also highlighted the fact that the occupancy rate based on bookings this years has increased slightly in comparison to previous years.
