On May the 24th at 5.30 a.m. the Ukrainian-cypriot climber Yevgen Staroselskiy has conqured the summit of Everest and raised the flag of the Republic of Cyprus at the top!
His way to this dream took him … two-thirds of life, 44 days spent in the expedition and 7.5 hours of extremely difficult climbing from the assault camp at 8300 to the summit at 8848m!
Yevgen Sraroselskiy became the second cypriot in the history of the island (after George Andreou) who has climbed Everest, and the first one from Cyprus who climbed the «Roof of the World”, using the Noth Col route from the northern Tibetan side – which is more difficult and dangerous.
At the moment Yevgen is on his way home! And he will tell us all the details of the journey himself very soon!
You are welcome to meet Yevgen Staroselskiy at Larnaca Airport on Wednesday the 29th of May, flight from Moscow, SU 2074, arrival at 13.50)
